We love children, but we do not intend on taking care of the same children their whole lives. Our goal is to get Haiti back on its feet. The fate of Haiti was caused by a domino effect. First, the government has always been corrupt, the interest of the people was not on the minds of the government officials. Second, a lack of investments in education systems lead to a decrease in educated children. The rise of adults unable to read and write lead to a lack of career oppportunities. Lack of jobs and money lead to many parents who can't afford to take care of their children. Hence, more homeless kids on the streets. And the cycle continues. Let's end this cycle! That is why we are starting with the children, the future of Haiti,
We will get these children educated, healthy, and comfortable so that they can grow up to change Haiti around. They will also serve as examples to other Haitian children. These kids don't have television to watch or parents to look up to. They have no idea what their potential is.
We will also raise these children to believe in God and set up Christian churches at each of the schools. We want them to grow up with faith and morals and Jesus is the perfect example to live by.
Hope For Haiti's Children Inc.

Hope For Haiti ’s Children Inc. (HFHC) is at its nucleus stage, and in order to actualize its potential, we need funding to help us build classrooms and orphanages in order to provide basic necessities such as school supplies, books, medicine, clothing and food for the children on site.
Our goals are to...
- Provide the necessary infrastructures to enable our students to live a healthy and productive life as adults.
- Build schools to meet the educational needs of our student body.
- Provide simultaneously a nurturing environment for the physical, educational, and spiritual development of our young charges.
- Construct a clinic to provide medical assistance and preventive care for the sick children.
- Build an in-school cafeteria to provide simple, but nutritious meals for our students.
- Create an in-school library to encourage and stimulate the love of learning among our students.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Hope For Haiti’s Children Inc., is a non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Florida . Our organization was created with the objective to assist the educational needs of the children in Haiti . Presently, HFHC’s efforts have been focused toward operating a small primary school for children in Thomassin (a suburb of Port-au-Prince ), called Immaculee Conception, which currently has a student body of 150 children enrolled from pre-kindergarten to elementary grades.
We have plans for expansion to meet the growing needs of our students. For instance, we would like to provide an in-school cafeteria for our students to ensure that they receive at least two nutritious meals a day while they are at school. We also foresee the necessity to have an on-site clinic, to provide the basic medical assistance to our students (i.e. immunization shots, eye care examination, hearing test, and basic first aid).
Last, we anticipate that in order to provide a well rounded primary education, we must build an in-school library to stimulate and encourage a lifelong love of reading and learning among the students. We would like to have a collection of books in French, Creole, and English that students will be required to read periodically.
Once the school of Thomassin is self supporting with all the programs established, our long term expansion plan is to duplicate the Thomassin Primary School Program throughout targeted areas. Our organization is committed to combat illiteracy and misinformation that is rampant in the poorer communities in Haiti . For starters, we want to provide a well grounded basic primary education that takes into account the social and economic realities of Haiti . Our children will be taught the basics of reading and writing in French and Creole, and through bible study sessions the children will have solid Christian upbringing. These fundamentals will be instrumental in the children’s lives and serve as deterrent for juvenile delinquent behavior or other criminal activity that is so common in the poor communities of Haiti . Our ultimate goal is to have our students graduate from our schools with a practical skill that will allow them to lead productive lives as adult citizens of Haiti .
School Expansion Program
We need funding for construction of the new building that we would like to add to Immaculee Conception. With a student body of 150 students, we need to create 6 classrooms with 25 students per room. Our construction cost is about $3,000 per classroom. As the student body increases, we will add more classes until high school.
We anticipate beginning the construction of a cafeteria by July 2009, earlier if we have adequate funding. We would like to build a kitchen area, acquire kitchen appliances, perhaps a generator for electricity, along with the utensils, tables, chairs and other accessories before we can even begin to serve the meals. In addition, we are also in need of funds to pay customs and transportation cost when accepting containers of food donations.
The rationale behind the opening of an in house cafeteria is that our student body is comprised of poor children whose parents are unable to provide them with 3 meals a day. We all know that the human body learns best when it has fuel to stimulate the brain. Therefore, understanding the realities of the Thomassin community, we would like to provide the students with at least 2 nutritious meals a day.
HFHC plans to build an in school library for the community of Thomassin. The membership requirement is to have their children enrolled in the school. To achieve this goal, we would need monetary donations to purchase the books, the supplies and furnishing to open the library to our students.
In addition to meeting the educational needs of the underprivileged children of Thomassin, HFHC will construct a school clinic to provide the basic medical care ( ie immunization shots, eye screening, hearing test, basic first aid, psychological counseling) for the students. We need the basic medical supplies such as band aids, antiseptics and antibiotics, vitamins for cases of malnutrition, Children’s cold and allergy medicine and other basic supplies. Once we have sufficient funding for the clinic, we will be taking donations for these items.
